Sundays Thundersport GB Motorcycle races were held at Donington Park on 26 March 2017. The conditions were good with clear blue skies and a stiff breeze for most of the day. Thirty eight races were held over the weekend with 394 riders competing.

I watched the first race of the Thundersport GB meeting infield at Redgate, but decided to move to the Craner Curves for Race 2 – Golden Era Supersport and Steelsport. The race was hardly underway when there was a spectacular accident as Adam Darnell lost the bikes rear. I quickly started firing as the accident unfolded and more riders got involved. Sparklight team-mate Chris Hellewell had nowhere to go taking a nasty fall. The Yamaha of Karl Foster cartwheeled at some speed and distance, narrowly missing Adam Darnell. Fortunately and surprisingly no-one suffered any serious injury.
